This video is about ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and its importance for companies. The EU CSRD Directive makes ESG reporting mandatory and standardises it. The EU Taxonomy Regulation and its six environmental objectives as well as the role of ESG rating agencies are explained. It also addresses the impact of sustainable finance and investment on a more sustainable economy. The aim is to create a better understanding of the importance of sustainability in the economy.

Episode 3: EU Taxonomy Regulation

This video deals with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and the increasing importance of mandatory sustainability reporting for companies. The EU CSRD Directive standardises this reporting. In addition, the EU Taxonomy Regulation and its six environmental objectives as well as the role of ESG rating agencies are explained. The impact of sustainable finance and investment on a more sustainable economy is also discussed. The aim is to provide a better understanding of the importance of sustainability in the economy.

Episode 4: ESG Reporting – CSRD ESRS

ESG reporting is a strategic step with a major impact on the financial performance and sustainability of companies. The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and the ESRS (European Single Electronic Format) have a significant impact on the disclosure of sustainability information. On 9 June 2023, the European Commission published a draft for the ESRS regulation, feedback is possible until 7 July. The ESG webcast #4 deals with CSRD, mandatory sustainability reporting, ESRS standards and disclosures and materiality assessment under ESRS.

Episode 5: Corporate Carbon Footprint

In the 5th episode of the ESG webcast, experts explain the importance and calculation of the corporate carbon footprint (CCF) along the value chain of a company. Topics include the need to address greenhouse gas emissions, CO2 equivalents, categorisation of emission sources, framework conditions for CCF, relevant ESG standards and greenhouse gas accounting.

Episode 6: ESG topics for SMEs

From 2024, mandatory sustainability reporting will apply to large companies and companies of public interest with more than 500 employees. The corporate carbon footprint (CCF) is calculated by recording greenhouse gas emissions along the value chain. Support for SMEs is provided by initiatives such as the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and tools such as the OeKB ESG Data Hub. Episode 6 of the ESG webcast series deals with drivers for ESG, sustainability reporting, ESRS, GRI standards, SDGs, CCF calculation, SBTi and the OeKB ESG Data Hub.

ESG Webcast Episode 7: „S“ in ESG

The 7th episode of the ESG webcast deals with regulatory topics and social aspects in connection with ESG. The European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), social standards and sustainability issues, the 6 environmental objectives of the EU taxonomy and minimum social protection are discussed. It also deals with (re)financing, capital procurement, sustainable finance, ESG ratings and the impact on business models and market positioning. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will also be discussed.

Episode 8: CBAM - Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

Part 8 of our ESG webcast series is all about CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism). Our experts Marina Mittermaier and Bernhard Winkelbauer explain what CBAM is, who is affected, as well as the requirements and reporting obligations in the transition and pricing phase. The content includes the objectives of CBAM, scope of application and exemptions, transitional phase and authorisation applications, deadlines and sanctions for CBAM reports, as well as the pricing phase.

Episode 9: Update ESG Reporting – CSRD ESRS

In the 9th instalment of the ESG webcast, our experts provide an update on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). They explain which companies are obliged to report, which legal framework conditions apply and how the double materiality analysis works. They will also discuss innovations in the area of mandatory sustainability reporting and an example of disclosure requirements based on ESRS E1: Climate Change.
