Karin Fuhrmann elected Tax Advisor of the Year
On 27 April, the daily ‘Die Presse’ and the IFA financial group organised an event to celebrate the winners of the ‘Abakus’ award honouring the performance of Austrian tax advisors and auditors. In Vienna’s Sofiensäle, the ‘Tax Advisors of the Year 2017’ were presented to nearly 300 specially invited guests. It was the second time for Mag. Karin Fuhrmann, tax advisor and partner at TPA, to emerge as winner in the ‘Real Estate and Construction’ category.
For the third time already, the competition was organised by the daily newspaper ‘Die Presse’ and the IFA financial group to find Austria’s best tax experts. The special thing about this: only entrepreneurs were allowed to nominate the tax advisor they put their trust in. After the casting of the votes, the candidates with the greatest number of votes were critically examined by a top-class jury. Based on transparent and pre-defined assessment criteria, the jury elected the Tax Advisors of the Year in seven categories and also awarded a special lifetime achievement prize for outstanding services as tax advisor and auditor. The ceremony was opened with a keynote speech held by Dr. Hannes Androsch, former Austrian Minister of Finance.
Second time for Karin Fuhrmann to win in the ‘Real Estate and Construction’ category
Having won in 2015 already, Karin Fuhrmann came first in the ‘Real Estate and Construction’ category this year as well. “I am very happy to have been elected Tax Advisor of the Year 2017. I would like to thank my clients for the trust they have put in me and my colleagues for their great commitment,“ says Ms Fuhrmann.
Award: sustainable mark of quality for an extremely important group of professional
Michael Baert, CEO of the IFA finance group, the Tax Advisor Award is a sustainable mark of quality and a label of excellence for the entire industry. “During the past three years, the ‘Tax Advisor of the Year’ competition has increasingly gained importance and is now considered a label of excellence throughout the industry. It must be emphasised, in particular, that the share of women among the award-winning tax advisors – namely 46% – is remarkable.”
Rudolf Schwarz, Managing Director of the daily ‘Die Presse’: “We introduced the award to honour a group of professionals who are of extraordinary importance to the economy, but whose essential services usually receive only limited attention. Companies cannot do without a trustworthy tax advisor and sound financial news with relevant background information as it is provided by ‘Die Presse’.”
